Former President Pervez Musharraf freed from house arrest in Pakistan

Former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf (C) arrives at an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad on April 20, 2013.
Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has been released from house arrest, one of his aides, Shailah Yazdani, said Thursday.
Musharraf, who has been battling a number of legal cases in Pakistan, had been under house arrest since April.
He returned to Pakistan earlier this year under heavy security to contest court cases against him and run in elections. But his return didn't go as planned.
